I Made a Homemade Wreath Maker!

SAVI Sunday Episode 30 - Homemade Wreath Maker

Hi there. So I saw this stamp set, Peace & Joy, and I was looking at the holly leaves and berries and decided I wanted to make a wreath them.  But I was trying to think, how I was going to make it even or at least circular.

Well, I know there are these templates out there in the craft stores but I decided that I would make my own.  I was easier than I thought and here is the card I made. You can watch my VIDEO HERE or I also have it linked below.

Card Details:

  • Cherry Cobbler card base 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored/folded at 4-1/4
  • White White CS cut 4 x 5-1/4
  • Stamp holly leaves in Garden Green ink
  • Holly Berries are stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink

Template made from the card board backing from our Designer Series Paper.  I cut to 6-1/4 x 6-1/4.  The center pattern is cut from a 4 x 4 square.  Again, be sure to watch my Savi Sunday 30 Video.

Aurora Borealis Background

SAVI Sunday Epidsode 29 - Aurora Borealis Background Technique

I just love how this card turned out with the streaks of color and slight hues of Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry.  Seeing the Aurora Borealis is definitely on my Bucket list!  Do you have a bucket list?  What are some of the things you would like to see or do?

While coloring the background, it is going to look like a mess and like it does not make sense.  But trust me, just keep going and it will all come together at the end.

Watch how I create the background in my SAVI Sunday video and then catch all card dimensions and supplies below.

Card Details:

  • Basic Black card stock base cut to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 & scored at 4-1/4
  • 2 pieces of Whisper White CS cut to 4 x 5-1/4 and 3-7/8 x 5-1/8
  • To add an inside, another piece of Whisper White cut 4 x 5-1/4
  • Sponge on colors for background in long streaks using a Sponge Daubers
  • Stamp tree images in Memento Black Ink
  • Add stars with Stampin' Chalk Marker
  • Adhere layers together with Stampin' Seal adhesive

Using the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Designer Series Paper (3)

SAVI Sunday - how to use Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper (3)

This is my 3rd and final SAVI Sunday video on how to alter and use the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper.  Make sure to click on my blog link to get to the video or see below.

If you missed ideas 1 and 2, you can click on the following links:  PLUSH PAPER IDEA 1  and PLUSH PAPER IDEA 2

For the 3rd way, I have used the coordinating framelit die to die cut the poinsettia out of the paper and layer it with some Cherry Cobbler card stock.  The white flocking on this Specialty Paper is so pretty.

Card Details:

  • Cherry Cobble card stock base cut 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored at 4-1/4 on the long side
  • Whisper White card stock cut 4 x 5-1/4 adhered to Cherry cobbler card base
  • Plush Poinsettia paper cut 4 x 5-1/4.  Adhere to Whisper White CS with Glue Dots
  • Die cut Plush Poinsettia and a Cherry Cobbler poinsettia
  • Adhere Plush flower with glue dots onto Cherry Cobbler flower then add to card with Dimensionals
  • Stamp words onto Whisper White CS 7/8- x 1-3/4
  • Cherry Cobbler CS mat 1 x 1-7/8

I actually did an inside for this one!  LOL!  The Poinsettia Petals stamp set is a 2-Step stamp set.  So like the berry branch... stamp one is the branches and outline of the berries, done in Black Memento.  Then there is a 2nd stamp to add color to the berries, which I did in Cherry Cobbler.

The strip of Cherry Cobbler card stock is cut 1/2 x 4"

Using the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper (2)

SAVI Sunday 27 - Using the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper (2)

I am doing a short series on how to use the Flocked Vellum paper from the Poinsettia Place Suite available in the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog.  This specialty paper is so pretty and a unique offering in this holiday catalog.

Did you catch the first way I showed how to alter and use this paper?  If not, be sure to catch that HERE.

So my 2nd way.... Color the flocking with Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers:

I carefully used my Blends to color in the flocking and then backed it onto a Thick Whisper White Card stock base helped make it stand out.  Be careful if your Blends marker is newer, you only need to use a light touch.

Here's a nice close up of the sleigh and some of the coloring:

Card Details:

  • Thick Whisper White CS base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2
  • Plush Poinsettia Paper:              4-1/4 x 5-3/8
  • Cherry Cobbler CS:                     1-1/2 x 4-1/8
  • Color the Plush Poinsettia paper with Blends markers using Dark Old Olive, Light Cherry Cobbler and Light Soft Suede
  • Adhere with Mini Glue Dots to card base
  • Adhere Cherry Cobbler CS
  • Stamp sleigh in Black Momento ink and color with Soft Suede and Cherry Cobbler Blends, then die cut
  • Die cut 2 large leaves in Mossy Meadow and 2 in Gold Foil
  • Die cut 2 small leaves in Gold Foil
  • Adhere leaves to back of sleigh and add sleigh on top of Cherry Cobbler CS with Dimensionals
  • Add Gold Glitter Enamel Dots
  • Stamp words in Black Memento on Whisper White and adhere
