Window Sheet Card with Rooted In Nature

As we all know, Lovely As a Tree stamp set has made it in the annual catalog once again.  This is the longest running set Stampin' Up! has ever offered and it is certainly a favorite to almost all demonstrators.  There is just something timeless and classic about the design of the set.   You know, like plaid, it comes and goes; but not these trees.

We have been craving for framelit dies for those trees.... Well, Stampin' Up! kinda' answered our request and came up with the Rooted in Nature Bundle (stamps, framelit dies, and embossing dies).   Here's a card I made featuring Rooted in Nature and the Window Sheet tecnhique.

Isn't that cool!  It looks the tree is hold the card together but there is a piece of acetate there.  And you get a sneak peek of what is inside while it adds to the look of the card.  Here are some additional pictures.

The card base measures 11" x 4-1/4" and is scored in half at 5-1/2".

I then cut off a 3" x 4-1/4" piece from the card front and cut that in half to make two 1-1/2" x 4-1/4" strips.

Adhere a piece of plastic Window Sheet measuring 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" to the back of the 'flap' of card base.  The window sheet now acts as your full front.  Adhere one piece of the 1-1/2" x 4-1/4" strips to the bottom front and the bottom back of the window sheet.  (Bottom back hides adhesive and gives extra stability to your card.)

**Did you see the detail in the leaves?  This is a special feature to the Rooted in Nature Framelit which have embossing dies to add that detail.    Check out this Stampin' Up! video HERE so see other ideas and how the Embossing Dies work.

Other Accessories used:  Leaves Trinkets metal embellishments, Burlap ribbon

Paper:  Mossy Meadow card stock, and Share What You Love DSP

Wonderful Moments

It's summertime!

Doesn't it seem like we wait, and wait, and wait some more, for summer to come every year.  Then we jam our weekends with "Wonderful Moments" trying to take advantage of the sunshine and warm  temperatures.  It is the season for parties, cookouts, graduations and....Weddings!  Which I happen to have one of those coming up.  I have not been to a wedding in almost two years when my brother got married.

From a wedding shower, to the wedding and starting a family, this 20 piece photopolymer stamp set called "Wonderful Moments"  covers it all and is going to be staple in my stamp room for a long time.  I love the hand-drawn dimensional images.  They are so simple and elegant, I hope you like them too. I stamped on Shimmery White card stock and used my Watercolor Pencils to softly shade her dress and hair and the white background to a very pale blue.  Stampin' Up! Aqua Painters work great to spread the color.  I used the smaller brush tip Aqua Painter as I did not want a lot of water.

Have you been following my blog posts over the last couple of weeks... if not, make sure to subscribe!  I have been highlighting a certain pack of Specialty Designer Series paper.  I will give you one guess  what it is called.   The 1" x 4-1/8" strip  on my card front is from this pack!

If you guessed Share What You Love, you are correct.  I just cannot get enough of this paper.   Click on the above link to see images of the paper.  But it is this video you should watch to see all the beauty.

And in case you are wondering, the background of my card was dry embossed using the Ruffled embossing folder and accented with Whisper White Sheet 1/8" ribbon

I hope you like this card.  Order your set today and if you have any questions, let me know.

Birthday Wishes

Hi everyone.   Hope you are having a good week so far.  Yesterday was my birthday and I am like a little kid and celebrate it all week.  I think we should allow ourselves to do that, it does only come once a year!  When I was born, June 18th fell on a was Father's Day; which explains the special bond I have with my dad.   Always have.   I was born less than a minute after midnight so my mom used to tell me that she knew from the start, I would be stubborn (who me?).  See,their wedding anniversary is August 17th and my brother was born on November 17th....get where I am going?  It became a long time joke with my family anytime something would happen.  They would say, well you are the stubborn one!

Anyway, here is a beautiful birthday card featuring the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.  If you saw my previous post, I featured the same paper and said I would show more.  There are so many colors and patterns that I would have to say it is a must have from the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.

The pearled imagery is just gorgeous and really makes using the paper fun.

The stamped images and words come from the Varied Vases stamp set.  This set is available as a bundle and I will be blogging more about it soon with a couple of card samples.  Its a cute set that has really nice phrases and font.

The Birthday Wishes card above has a card base in Grapefruit Grove, a new In-Color, two mats of Basic Black card stock, and I used Black mini sequins trim for accents.  Images and words stamped on Whisper White

Any questions about this card or any product, do not hesitate to contact me!

Return of Mint Macaron

For the 2018 Color Re-Vamp, Stampin' Up! has a returning favorite color, Mint Macaron.   I make special note of this because not only was it a favorite of mine, but it has given me a whole new appreciation for one of my least favorite colors, Tranquil Tide.  Just look at this color combination!  I hardly ever use Tranquil Tide and now, I am actually sitting here looking at my card saying, "Boy, I wish I would have backed that Share What You Love Designer Series Paper with some Tranquil Tide card stock.

The below card now only features the Share What You Love Designer Series Paper, but the Love What You Do photopolymer stamp set.  My photography does not depict how fabulous this paper is.  The flowers are actually pearlized and shimmery!

The "Share What You Love" Product Suite has some fabulous accessories too, like the Pearlized Doilies show above.  Check out the whole Product Suite HERE to see all the goodies you can coordinate with.

Watch for upcoming posts as I continue with two more cards using the Share What You Love Designer Series Paper.

Glad It Is Sticking Around... Petal Palette

With just two weeks left until the launch of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog, I am busy going through my stamps and other supplies to see what of my favorites are carrying over.  I am happy to know the the Petal Palette Stamp Set and Petal & More Thinlits Dies are both going to be in the new annual catalog; just not as a bundle.

If you want to take advantage of the 10% Bundle discount, you have until May 31, 2018 to order.  Wood-mount Bundle # 145973 is $72.75 or Clear-mount Bundle # 145974 is $62.00

Here are samples using the Petal Palette bundle a group made in one of my specialty classes.  I hope you enjoy:

Card Sample 1:  Label Thank You featuring Sweet Sugarplum

I love the inside just as much as the outside.  Sweet Sugarplum is retiring at the end of May but can easily be replaced by just about any color.  Same for the Whisper White Organza Ribbon (#145590) from the 2018 Occasions catalog.  It is retiring too but can be replaced with another option.  The flower embossing was done with 1 or 2 Embossing Folders called Petal Pair (#145656) and these are carrying over to the new annual catalog.

Card Sample 2:  Label From the Heart

Flower image was heated embossed with White Embossing Powder (#109132) on Watercolor Paper (#122959).  I used Aqua Painters (#103954) to apply color.  The white & silver bakers twine (#145569) will be carried over the the 2018-2019 annual catalog with two other color options.

Card Sample 3:  Yellow Thank You

Daffodil Delight is such a happy color.  The Double-Stitched Ribbon (#144116) will be carrying over to the new catalog (in Real Red too) and even though those awesome Glimmer Enamel Dots will not, there will be some fun options to use in their place.  The black background paper is from the Petal Passions Designer Series Paper (already out of stock & retiring)... so here is what you can do instead:

Black Background Alternative:  using the flower and/or leaf stamp(s) from Petal Palette, heat emboss with white embossing powder on black card stock.  What a fun idea to create your own background.

Card Sample 4:  Life Is So Much Better

Did you know Flirty Flamingo color is carrying over?  It is now going to be a core color.  Super excited as it is a different kind of pink.  To me, it has substance.  This super quick and easy card can also be created in any color of your liking.  Just update the organza ribbon (#145590) if you do not purchase by May 31, 2018, with another ribbon choice from your stash or new ribbon coming June 1, 2018.

Card Sample 5:  Silver Sprigs Melody (You like the names of my cards?)
