Pressed Petals Paper - I'm Going To Miss You!

PicsArt_06-02-04.55.13

I have a last minute post!  I did these projects on a Facebook Live a couple of weeks ago and to my surprise, the video disappeared.  Ugh, technology... or is it the user?  Ha! Ha!

Any way, I wanted to photograph and get these posted so you can see each card project has a main focal piece from one (yes, just one) sheet of the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I was able to make 9 cards from that one sheet.   The Specialty DSP is retiring tonight at midnight if you still wanted to get your hands on this beautiful paper, you can Shop Now

A few other items that I used is the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape (also retiring), the Timeless Label Punch, Mossy Meadow, Very Vanilla, and Merry Merlot card stock, and Dimensionals.   (the Leaf Punch is already gone but you could substitute with the Sprig Punch).  The Glitter Enamel Dots are also retiring and still available.  I used on some flower centers.

  • All card bases are standard 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
  • Cut one sheet of DSP from Pressed Petals DSP pack and follow those measurements (see below)
  • Cut layers 1/4" larger for smaller pieces.  For example, if cut DSP is 4 x 4, cut mat 4-1/4 x 4-1/4
  • For DSP pieces that are almost a full frontal piece, if you to mat with card stock, cut CS to 5-3/8" x 4-1/8"
  • Embellish how you would like

Below is a great picture of the One Sheet of paper I used from the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP pack.  Just cut the long 12" strip of pink and white daisies off first.  Then you can cut up each of the seven remaining pieces to use on your card fronts.  That 12" strip... I made two cards with it!

Oh....by the way, Pressed Petals is available as in below picture in an entire PRODUCT SUITE (retires tonight!).

I hope you enjoy!

Pressed Petals Designer Series Paper

I wanted to show you another card using the Pressed Petals Designer Series Paper.  If you missed my last post showing this paper, check it our HERE as I have added a video!

Both the background and music piece are from this Designer Series paper.  Pressed Petals is so pretty, you can dress it up or leave it plain and add a simple sentiment.  I chose to dress it up. Doesn't this make for a great fall birthday?  Of course, it could be for just about any occasion; retirement, thinking of you, get well, and more.

The background piece is cut 4-1/8 x 5-3/8 as I just wanted a slim boarder showing the Night of Navy card base.  Standard card base 8-1/2 x 5-1/2.

The music sheet piece is cut 4-1/8 x 2.

The picture does not do justice for the Gold Foil pieces.  The berry sprigs (in Gold Foil) and leaves (in Mossy Meadow) are from the Frosted Bouquet Dies.  And then I layered the Stitched Nested Label die in Gold Foil as well.  Helps make it stand out a little, don't you think?

My favorite accent used to dress up the card is the piece of Night of Navy ran through one of the dies from the Detailed Lace Dies.  I just adore that die, but all three are pretty great with lots of detail.

A Cool New Product... Check it Out!

Happy Friday everyone.  Hope you all had a great week.  Mine was the same hum-drum week, working my day job, so Fridays are always the highlight of my week. Is that the same for you?

Today I wanted to share a card featuring the Pressed Petals Designer Series Paper and.... The NEW Pressed Petals Washi Tape.  Here is the card (you can click on it to bring up larger):

I love this card!  The colors and flowers... OH!  Speaking of flowers.  The Flower, with the metal Designer Elements piece, is made with the NEW PRESSED PETALS WASHI TAPE!  Yes, washi tape.  Each petal is individual and you peal them off the roll and stick them onto your project.  It is so cool.

The Pressed Petals tape comes in a 2 pack.  The other roll is the ruler looking strip on the right side of the card.  I cut my card base 7-1/2 x 5-1/2 still scoring at 4-1/4 inches.  When you fold on the score line, you see one inch of your inside so I added the piece of washi tape to coordinate.

For the front of the card, the Pressed Petals designer series paper is cut 5-1/4 x 3.  This also means, you can make several cards.  By cutting at 3 inches, you will get 8 pieces per sheet of designer paper!

Here is an angle picture so you can see the opening a little better:

I completed the card with the Happy Birthday sentiment from a stamp set called 'Here's a Card', stamped in Merry Merlot ink and cut out with the Stitched Nested Labels dies.

Below is the list of products I used on this card.  Let me know if you have any questions and have a great weekend!
