We BEE Stamping TEAM Blog Hop Season of Giving

BeeBlogHopOpeningIcon

Welcome to our December Team Blog Hop.

I am going to share a cute Treat Bag with a fold over flap.  There are so many ways to make bags, but I found this one to be a bit different with the flap.  It is a great size too 3 x 4 x 2.  The bag does narrow at the top but you can easily fit a gift card, chocolates like Hershey kisses and a bit of paper shred for some fun.  What a great little treat bag.

I am featuring the super cute Beary Christmas suite collection.

20231201_200743

I used Boho Blue card stock for the base of the bag

Cutting and Scoring:

  • card stock is 8 x 10-1/2
  • on the long side, score at 3", 5", 8" and 10"
  • on the short side, score at 2" on each side
  • Designer Series Paper Pieces are:
    • 2 pieces at  2-3/4 x 3-3/4
    • 1 piece for the flap at 1-3/4 x 2-3/4

Using the Very Best Trio punch, round the corners of what will be the flap and the 1-3/4 x 2-3/4 DSP.  Here is what you card stock should look like after you have cut and scored. The left side will be the bottom of your bag.  You can slightly angle in your bottom cuts.

Here is a little side angle.  See how I pinched the sides to close the bag?  Then fold over the flap to close, then wrap linen thread around several times to close.

I used the Memories & More card pack along with the 2" Circle Punch to create a little tag.

SAVI Sunday - Episode 40 How To Make a Pillow Box

SAVI Sunday - Episode 40:  How To Make a Pillow Box

Happy Sunday to you!  The sun is shining so bright today on this last Sunday of November.  It is just a beautiful day.

Today I wanted to share a video on how to make a Pillow Box.  These are great for putting a gift card in them, a little treat, or maybe some cash.  The finished, fillable area is about 3/4 x 2-1/2 x 3-3/4".  So you can fill with a number of things.  Let's take a look at my pillow box finished off with Sheer Real Red ribbon and a poinsettia from the Poinsettia Place Suite.

PicsArt_11-29-12.31.20

I absolutely love how this turned out.  And although you can't see the shine of the flower, I did use the Brushed Metallic Cardstock to die cut the poinsettia petals.  This picture though, does show you the different hues or colors of the Brushed Metallic card stock that comes in the pack.  You get 6 sheets (2 each of the three metallic colors).

Here is my YouTube Video explaining how to make the Pillow Box.

To create make sure to watch the video:

  • You will need a piece of card stock (or use Designer Series Paper) cut to 5 x 5-1/2.
  • On the 5-1/2" side score at 1/2" and then 3" (or as in my video using the Stampin' Up! Paper Trimmer which was 1/2" from the right then 2-1/2" from the left).  The video will show you!
  • Trace your arcs and cut out
  • Create your scores
  • Punch half circles to create thumb tabs
  • Adhere the tab
  • Fold up and decorate

SAVI Sunday- Episode 36 Gold Hoop Ornaments

SAVI Sunday - Episode 36:  Gold Hoop Ornaments

Well, my Sunday did not go according to plan.  In NE Ohio, we had very high winds and snow.  Yes, snow on November 1st!  With the winds came disrupted internet service.  My Wi-Fi was off and on all afternoon and after the third upload attempt, I said, I guess this was just not meant to be for today.

Anyway, here is my Savi Sunday just a day late.  I really hope you like my projects, three cute little ornaments all made with the Gold Hoop Embellishments and the Quite Curvy Celebrations product suite releasing November 3, 2020.

Ornament 1:  Real Red Ribbon

Don't forget.... you can click on any of the images and they will open larger for you to see up close!

  • For the first ornament, I die cut 6 of the leaves from Mossy Meadow card stock and 2 from Gold Foil
  • I clustered and adhered them together with Stampin' Seal+ adhesive
  • Tie a bow with Real Re ribbon and used a couple of Glue Dots to adhere to leaves
  • Use several Glue Dots to adhere the leaf cluster to the Gold Hoop
  • Tie a piece of Real Red ribbon for ornament hanger

Ornament 2:  Merry and Bright

PicsArt_11-01-11.52.50

  • Punch a hole at top of circle and adhere to Gold Hoop with Glue Dots
  • Stamp fern branch in Old Olive ink on Whisper White and fussy cut
  • Now do a Mirror Image Stamp of the same fern branch so it curves the opposite direction.
    • For Mirror stamping CLICK HERE to see my video explaining how to do!
  • Stamp "merry and bright" words only in Cherry Cobbler onto Whisper White and die cut with Curvy Dies, adding the tag tails
  • Die cut 4 Old Olive leaves

Cocktail Holder

Total Fun Project!  I did a Facebook Live video a few weeks ago showing how I made these.  They are so fun and easy to make that you could make as a fun party favor in no time.

The Rainbow Glimmer Paper is a definite personal favorite and it is the perfect thickness for this project.  Tie it off with Metallic Mesh Ribbon from the 2020 holiday catalog, and a tag... Love this project.

PicsArt_09-13-05.56.59

Project Details:

  • cut Rainbow Glimmer paper to 5-1/2 x 9
  • score it at 3-3/4 and 4-1/4 on both sides... along 5-1/2 side
  • score at 1/2" on the long side

Here is a close-up of the tag I made.  I stamped the small word phrases in Melon Mambo ink and the word Cocktails in Mango Melody.  Take a scrap piece of Whisper white and stamp the glass in Mango Melody, filler glass stamp in Mango Melody then cut die.  Use a Dimensional to add the glass to the tag.
