My 3-D Shadow Box

Back at the beginning of December, a local craft store had shadowbox frames on sale but I just needed one.  I was making a Christmas gift for my brother and sister-in-law.  Well, they were selling a 2-pack for less than me just buying one.  I never understand that kind of pricing but, my mind was already churning on what to do with the other frame... So I have had this idea in my head since then.

Inspire. Create. Share. is a part of the Stampin' Up! moto so I decided to make this for my studio.  I love how it came out.  The back is a piece of black 12 x 12 card stock laid on top of the frame backing.  On top of the black, is one sheet from the Beautiful Detailed Laser-Cut Designer Series Paper.  It is absolutely gorgeous.  This paper is reversible too, white on one side and Petal Pink on the other.  I opted for the Petal Pink.

Using the Large Letter Framelits, I die cut the words with Gold Glimmer Paper.  The letters are on top of the glass adhered with glue dots.

The best part... I did not glue the black card stock nor the delicate Beautiful Detailed Laser-cut paper so I can exchange out and re-use the paper.  I can also remove the words and come up with something totally new.

Do you want to see what I made for my brother and sister-in-law?  This is their adorable family too... :)

I found sticky letters (our large letter framelits were too big and didn't fit) and connected each of their names.

Aren't they cute?  My little nieces are so adorable.  The oldest one has discovered boys.... Oh man!  And the little guy is cute as a button.  Their house is very full and active!

I may have to see if I can get some more frames as I enjoyed making these projects and I can hang several.

It's coming, it's coming... the 2019 Occasions catalog and Sale-a-Bration are coming!  Both start on January 3, 2019.  Can you believe it is that awesome time of year again!   Just a reminder, Sale-a-Bration is the time of year you are rewarded for your purchases.  Product purchase of $50 or $100 (before SHT) gets you Free item(s) from the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  I will be posting links to download the catalogs soon.

Using Botanical Bliss (Cards & 3D Projects)

Ever see a stamp set and coordinating dies that are underrated?  I think this is one of those sets.  The name is Botanical Bliss and Tag Thinlits.   Here are 4 card projects that I hope you like and encourages you to get this bundle.  Make sure to read all the way to see my 3D projects!

I love the Sheet Music Background stamp in the above photo.  But I am a music lover... I was a Music Major my first go-around in College.  To this day, I keep up my flute playing skills with a community band.  If we are not rehearsing then we are performing at senior centers and rehab facilities.  It's a nice small group with some great musicians and I really enjoy it.  We all volunteer our time but it is so worth it, especially when the residents and patients clamp to the beat or try to sing along.

PicsArt_09-03-12.01.24[1]  I think this one should say "Happy Halloween".  Ha!  Ha!

So a big shout out to one of my downline members, Linda Sebrasky.  I had to have surgery about 1-1/2 weeks before class and she agreed to help me.  The next two designs are Linda's.  I love them both and she did an excellent job!  So pretty!

The Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper by far, is my Favorite DSP paper in the Annual Catalog.  It is gorgeous and what Linda used in the first card.  And my favorite ribbon of the catalog, Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle!   The Smokey Slate and Black card is simple and elegant.  The Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets add just the right amount of bling, don't you think?

3-D PROJECTS:  Clear Treat Box and Reese's Cup Cover

PicsArt_09-03-11.49.40[1]

This would make sure a great favorite at any party!  The Clear Treat Boxes fold are such a great quality!  The Coastal Cabana card stock is cut 8-1/2" x 2-1/2".  It is scored on the long side at 2-1/16" .... then at 4-1/8" ... then at 6-1/8" and finally at 8-3/16".   I then put a strip of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet, just about the same size as my card stock strip, on one side.  Then die cut with one of the Botanical Tags Thinlits Dies, cut four times making sure you are lined up between the score lines.  The Multipurpose Adhesvie sheet works like magic sticking to the Clear Treat Box.  There will be a little over hang of card stock edge.  Secure down with a mini glue dot.

PicsArt_09-03-11.54.08[1]

For my Reese's Cup cover, I used a regular size Reese's Cup.  Black card stock is cut to 7" x 2-1/2".   Use the bird or crow image tag die from the Botanical Tags Thinlits and cut at top of card stock.  On either side of the die cut arch, snip off each side.  Measure down 2-1/4" from the snipped edge and score.  From this score line, measure down 1/2" and score again (or the 2nd score would be 2-3/4" from snipped edge).

Pumpkin Pie card stock is cut 2-1/4" x 2".   Whisper white card stock is cut 2" x 1-3/4".

The bird or crow and the vine stamped images are from the Botanical Bliss stamp set as well.  I used a couple of glue dots to help hold the Reese's cup on the card stock and tied closed with Black Cord.

I hope your enjoyed all the projects I shared today.  Let me know if you have any questions.
