We BEE Stamping TEAM Blog Hop Season of Giving

BeeBlogHopOpeningIcon

Welcome to our December Team Blog Hop.

I am going to share a cute Treat Bag with a fold over flap.  There are so many ways to make bags, but I found this one to be a bit different with the flap.  It is a great size too 3 x 4 x 2.  The bag does narrow at the top but you can easily fit a gift card, chocolates like Hershey kisses and a bit of paper shred for some fun.  What a great little treat bag.

I am featuring the super cute Beary Christmas suite collection.

20231201_200743

I used Boho Blue card stock for the base of the bag

Cutting and Scoring:

  • card stock is 8 x 10-1/2
  • on the long side, score at 3", 5", 8" and 10"
  • on the short side, score at 2" on each side
  • Designer Series Paper Pieces are:
    • 2 pieces at  2-3/4 x 3-3/4
    • 1 piece for the flap at 1-3/4 x 2-3/4

Using the Very Best Trio punch, round the corners of what will be the flap and the 1-3/4 x 2-3/4 DSP.  Here is what you card stock should look like after you have cut and scored. The left side will be the bottom of your bag.  You can slightly angle in your bottom cuts.

Here is a little side angle.  See how I pinched the sides to close the bag?  Then fold over the flap to close, then wrap linen thread around several times to close.

I used the Memories & More card pack along with the 2" Circle Punch to create a little tag.

I hope you liked my project today.  No be sure to click Next to see what Karen Burke has to show us or Back for Linda Bauwin.

We BEE Stamping TEAM Blog Hop - 3-D Christmas Gifts

BeeBlogHopOpeningIcon

Hello... and welcome to our monthly Blog Hop!  I have been so excited for this month as we are doing a 3-D project (anything other than a regular card).  Not only do I love making cards, but I enjoy general crafting too; and actually, that is how I stumbled into Stampin' Up!  Someone I craft with, invited me to a Stampin' Up! party.

So I am very excited to share my Christmas Gift 3-D project with you.  And it does not hurt that I used my favorite product suite, Whimsy & Wonder!  I'm sad that it will be retiring soon.

Be sure to check out the RETIRING LIST just released today!  Also, items have been added to the CLEARANCE RACK!

Any ways, without further delay, here is my project!  It's a 12 x 12 Shadow Box Frame.

PicsArt_12-01-07.07.36

-  The background is a 12 x 12" piece of Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper (unfortunately, now sold out... sorry.  I know, I'm sad too).

-  There are 6 pieces of 3-1/4 x 3-1/4" pieces of Polished Pink Card stock and one (1) piece at 3-1/4 x 10-1/4.

-  There are 6 pieces of Whimsy & Wonder DSP 3-1/8 x 3-1/8" and one (1) at 3-1/8 x 10-1/8.  I used all different patterns.

  • top row:
    • 1st square:  tree & words stamps done in Mint Macaron on Basic White CS.  Silver Tree accent die cut from Silver Foil
    • 2nd square:  tree die cut Mint Macaron CS, Silver Foil for tree deco die and bulbs stamped in Memento Black ink on Basic white, die cut and colored with Blends.  Rhinestone for accent.
    • 3rd square:  Tree dies... I cut 3 of each size from DSP and Silver Foil.
  • middle:
    • Blushing Bride ribbon (sold out).  Two 4" pieces.  Skinny tree stamped in Mint Macaron on Basic White CS and die cut, then adorned with rhinestones
    • MERRY CHRISTMAS die cut with Playful Alphabet Dies using Polished Pink CS
  • bottom row:
    • 1st square:  Blushing Bride CS behind tree die cut with Scalloped Contour Dies.  Tree stamped in Mint Macaron on Basic White CS.  Tree detail die cut on Silver Foil
    • 2nd square:  adhered a Wonder Snowflake (so pretty with them being iridescent)
    • 3rd square:  used Stitched Rectangle dies to cut Blushing Bride and Basic White CS.  Stamped words in Mint Macaron

I adhered most of the decorative trees, labels, words with Dimensionals and also added Basic Rhinestones where I felt they would fit.  I hope you like this project as much as I do!

Next let's buzzzz on over to see what Dana Davis has in store for everyone.  Don't forget you can buzzzz on back to see Linda Bauwin's design!

Blue Shimmery Poinsettia

I don't know about you, but I cannot get enough of the Poinsettia Petals Bundle or the entire product suite called Poinsettia Place.  When you want to make the traditional red flowers or go with another color, I do not think it will look bad.

I also love mixing up product suite items and making my own combinations.  In my Blue Shimmery Poinsettia card, I did just that.  I combined the Poinsettia Petals bundle with items from the Snowflake Splendor Suite collection.  Let's take a look...

PicsArt_11-29-12.34.00

Again, using the Poinsettia Petals bundle for the flower and sprigs, the Designer Series Paper, blue gems, ribbon and Balmy Blue  Glimmer paper are all from the Snowflake Splendor product suite.

The Creative Fold idea on this one did come from Linda Bauwin over at Stamping with Linda.  She is my fabulous upline who has been a Demonstrator for over 23 years.  She is awesome!

Card Details:

  • 3 pieces of Balmy Blue Card Stock:
      • 2 x 4"
      • 4-1/4 x 5-1/2"
      • 2-5/8 x 3-7/8"
  • 2 pieces of Whisper White Card Stock
      • 4 x 8"
      • 4-1/2 x 5-1/2"
  • 2 pieces of Designer Series Paper
      • 1-7/8 x 3-3/8"
      • 2-1/2 x 3-3/4"
  • Blue Glimmer Paper 4 x 5"
  • a Beaded Pearl and some Blue Adhesive Backed Gems
  1. score the Balmy Blue CS 2 x 4" piece at 1/2" on long side
  2. adhere DSP 1-7/8 x 3-3/8" piece to above Balmy Blue
  3. take the 4 x 8" Whisper White CS and score at 5-1/4 on the 8" side.  This will form your card base
  4. take the 2 x 4" Balmy Blue piece and adhere the 1/2" scored parts to back side of Whisper White from step 3.  This will create your flap.  Make sure your DSP is facing forward.
  5. adhere the 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 Balmy Blue CS to the 4 x 8 Whisper White.  Fold & just hold the smaller flap of the Whisper White so you can center over the Balmy Blue card stock.
  6. adhere the 2-1/2 x 3-3/4" piece of DSP on the Whisper White flap so when flap closed, you will see the DSP
  7. stamp 3 sizes of poinsettias in Night of Navy in on the 4-1/2 x 5-1/2" Whisper White.  Die cut them out
  8. Die cut 5 sprigs out of the Balmy Blue Glimmer paper

-  To add extra sparkle to my poinsettia flower, I put some rubbing alcohol and several drops of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint into a Spritzer.  Shake the spritzer to mix the alcohol and paint.  Heavily spritz all the petals.  While still damp, I pinched all the petals on the petals center line.  You can really scrunch them up, just depends on what you like.

-  I then used my Heat Tool to help dry them quickly.  Adhere all the petals together with Dimensionals or Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Add a Beaded Pearl to the center.

-  Before adhering to our card, add the Balmy Blue Glimmer Springs to the back and a couple of pieces of Snowflake Splendor Ribbon to finish it all off.

****When adhering your poinsettia to your card,  make sure you use Dimensionals and on the left side of your flower.  Your flap needs to tuck under the right side of your flower to hold your card closed.

Lastly, don't forget about the Blue Adhesive backed Gems!

SAVI Sunday 41 - Candle Gift Holder

Welcome to my SAVI Sunday - Episode 41:  Candle Gift Holder

Here is a unique gift holder for the holidays, or any occasion.  Lots of my friends and family love candles and what a great little gift or stocking stuffer.  This one here is going to co-workers and features a candle from a local store from here in North East Ohio, Root Candles.  You should check them out.  If you live local, their store is a must see!

PicsArt_12-06-08.58.13

Here is what you need to create this gift box:

  • 2 pieces of Merry Merlot cardstock cut to 7-1/2 x 11"
  • score both pieces of cardstock the same:
    • on 11" side, score at:  3", 6-1/2", and 8-1/4 (then quarter turn counter clockwise)
    • on 7-1/2" side, score at:  3-1/2" and 7"
  • fold paper back on top score line and make tiny score marks along the fold
  • tiny score marks are at 1-3/8", 2-1/8", 4-7/8" and 5-5/8"
  • we will need 4 pieces of Designer Series Paper each 3-1/4" x 3-1/4".  I used Plush Poinsettia Plush Paper to decorate outside of box
  • Tag:  Whisper White cardstock 1" x 2-3/4
  • Tag:  Merry Merlot cardstock 1-1/4" x 3"

Now you have to watch my VIDEO to see the rest of the scoring and cutting instructions.

I have to give credit to blogger Darby over at "Rejoice and Create" for this fabulous idea.  I just loved, what she calls a flare top gift box, that I wanted to try for myself.  Darby have a diagram of the cut and score instructions too.

Double Hershey Bar Holder

The holiday season is upon us and who doesn't need some stocking stuffers?  I have these little square fabric Christmas baskets for my nieces and nephew that I fill each year because... Santa comes to Auntie's house too!  I like to fill with a few small items like a pair of socks, hair ties for the girls, a gift card, and a little bit of candy.  One year I did a hot cocoa theme with hot cocoa packets, candy canes, a cute Christmas mug, some Hershey Kisses sprinkled in and a gift card for Starbucks.  Yes Starbucks... the kids like their smoothies and so it is a treat for them.

Today's project is this awesome Double Hershey Bar holder.  These are great for any theme really... just change up your designer series paper, colors and accessories.  But seeing as these will be going in the kids Santa baskets, I kept with the Christmas theme.

I featured the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper and Warm Hugs Bundle for the first one.  Let's take a look:

PicsArt_12-05-09.31.33

PicsArt_12-05-09.33.03

Is that not the cutest holder?  Who wouldn't love 2 Hershey Bars!  And they are really easy to make and I'll make it easier by giving you all the measurements.  Just watch my video below to see how I put them together.

But first, here is another one that I make with the Snowflake Splendor Designer Series paper, the So Many Snowflakes Dies, along with the gems, glimmer paper and ribbon which you can get in a complete product suite called Snowflake Splendor.  My card base color is Balmy Blue.

PicsArt_12-05-09.29.59

Here is what you will need to cut and score for the basic holder:

  • Card stock:       7-1/8 x 8-1/4
    • Score on the 7-1/8 side at:   2-1/4, 2-5/8, 3, 5-1/4 and 6
    • Score on the 8-1/4 side at:  1, 1-3/8, 6-7/8 and 7-1/4
  • Card stock:       2 pieces cut to 2 x 5-1/2
    • score both on the 2" side at 1/4 and 5/8
  • Designer Series Paper
    • 2 pieces cut to 1-1/8 x 5-1/4 (pocket covers)
    • 1 piece cut to 2-1/8 x 5-1/4 (front cover)
    • 1 piece cut to 1 x 5-1/4 (front flap... rounded corners)

Here's my YouTube Video to see how this all comes together:

Thank you to "Mixed Up Craft" for the idea!
