Masculine Beautiful World Globe

Hello there...

I hope you had a Merry Christmas!  As we wait for the New Year to ring in, I thought I would post a project or two that I have not shared yet.  One of my favorite product suites in the 2020-2021 annual catalog is the World of Good Suite Collection!  It is a great collection of product for masculine card, for someone who likes to travel, and for scrapbooking.  I myself, am hoping to be able to travel again soon.  This pandemic has been a real downer for that so I guess in the meantime, I can dream of where I will be going first!

PicsArt_12-28-10.20.52

Card Details:

  • Crumb Cake CS 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored and folded at 4-1/2 for card base
  • Misty Moonlight CS 4 x 5-1/2 embossed with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder
  • Very Vanilla CS 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 die cut with Stitched So Sweetly Die
  • Stamp words in Early Espresso
  • Die cut globe in Crumb Cake and globe circle in Misty Moonlight
  • Globe stand is stamped in Early Espresso on Soft Suede CS then die cut

I wanted to point out a couple details from the World Map Dies that I thought was really neat.

  • First.... There are 2 globe dies so both sides of the world is covered!  I just love that Stampin' Up! thought about this detail.
  • Second... look at the script embossing plate!  How cool is that?  It embossing coordinates into your paper
  • Third... I think the feather and ink bottle just adds a great classic touch.
  • Okay.... one more thing:  I LOVE THAT SWIRL DIE!

SAVI Sunday Epidsode 29 - Aurora Borealis Background Technique

PicsArt_09-13-05.40.33

I just love how this card turned out with the streaks of color and slight hues of Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry.  Seeing the Aurora Borealis is definitely on my Bucket list!  Do you have a bucket list?  What are some of the things you would like to see or do?

While coloring the background, it is going to look like a mess and like it does not make sense.  But trust me, just keep going and it will all come together at the end.

Watch how I create the background in my SAVI Sunday video and then catch all card dimensions and supplies below.

Life Is Beautiful Stamp Set

Hi there.

Life is Beautiful... what a great name for a stamp set.  I think it is quiet a fitting reminder for today, well, really for this year.  I feel we need to be reminded during these trying time that life is beautiful, we just need to see it.

I just love this card and all the colors.  I participated in a Team card challenge and this submission was made by a fellow Demonstrator, Mary Ann Rositer.  I love how she lets the Pretty Peacock card base remain as much a part of the focal color as the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper.  Very nice job.

PicsArt_08-31-12.42.19

Now, because I only receive a photo of all the card challenge submissions, I do not have the card in front of me.  I am going to take a guess at the basic sizes of what she cut.

  • Pretty Peacock card base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored at 4-1/4 on the long side.
  • DSP 3 x 4
  • Gold Foil 3-1/8 x 4-1/8
  • Whisper White for tree, 3-3/4 x 2-1/2
  • Pretty Peacock CS mat, 3-7/8 x 2-3/8
  • then you need Whisper White piece for the words and label die

Here is imagery from Stampin' Up! showing a few more examples.  You can click on the photo to bring up larger.

Fall Pumpkins in a Wheelbarrow

Fall pumpkins in a wheelbarrow... reminds me of when I was little.

My parents would take me and my brother to a pumpkin patch to pick out our very own pumpkin.  It was the highlight of the season, and probably why the fall is my favorite time of the year.  My brother would dash off, running wildly towards the patch.  Mom yelling at him to slow down and wait.  He would always go for the biggest pumpkin he could possibly carry.  He did not care about the color, nicks nor scratches, or if it even had a stem.

Me on the other hand, the perfectionist (I guess I should have known then) would look and look and look... until I found that perfect shape, that perfect stem arc, and the most perfect orange-colored pumpkin I could find.  It would take me ten times the amount of time, but I wanted the most beautiful pumpkin in the patch.  It was quiet maddening to my brother (tee hee).

Any ways, this Autumn Goodness Bundle with pumpkins in a wheelbarrow, takes me back to those sweet, childhood memories.  Ones that makes you just smile and chuckle a little.
