We BEE Stamping TEAM Blog Hop - Fun Fold Cards

We BEE Header

Hello, and thank you for stopping by our monthly blog hop.  This month's theme is a fun fold card, which are always exciting.

I am featuring the suite collection called Take To The Sky.  This is a great suite for masculine cards.

#taketothesky #stampwithlisabrown

I used Misty Moonlight as my card base and two different patterns from the Take To The Sky Design Series Paper.

  • Misty Moonlight card stock 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored at 4-1/4 to form card base
  • Another piece of Misty Moonlight CS cut to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2
  • Two different DSP patterns cut 4-1/4 x 5-1/2
  • Using the Scattered Rectangle Dies, lay the Misty Moonlight 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 on top of card front and die cut.  Die cut both pieces at same time so they align
  • Die cut both DSP pieces with the same rectangle die (save the one cut out to mount inside your card
  • Card base:  the front panel that has the rectangle die cut, score that in half at 2-1/8 then fold back creating a flap.
  • Adhere the Misty Moonlight frame but only to the half folded back flap

#taketothesky 2 #stampwithlisabrown

When adhering the inside DSP frame, cut in half at 2-1/8" so that the card still folds easily.

#taketothesky 4 #stampwithlisabrown

I die cut two sets of clouds and used Small Blending Brushes to add some Misty Moonlight ink.  Add clouds to the inside and outside of the card.

  • Stamp words on a 1/2 piece of basic white, and give the strip a curl in both directs to add a wave
  • Inside Basic White CS is 2-1/4 x 3-1/2
  • I aligned the airplane to cover majority of the inside stamps words.

Sending A Note of Thanks Card

Hello there ~

I have another daisy card for you, but this one is only using the Fresh As A Daisy Designer Series Paper along with Sending Smiles stamp set and Sending Dies, which I seem to be using a lot!  The dies are one of my most favorite sets.

Daisy, the happy flower.  My mom just loved Shasta Daisies and the below design is what I'm call the Shasta daisy.  Mom looked forward to them blooming every year.  When they had their front flower bed re-landscaped, going to pick out fresh, new Shasta plants was at the top of her list.

I used Lemon Lolly card stock for the card base on this one.  Happy flowers deserve happy colors!

#stampwithlisabrown #creativecardcloset #sendingdaisythanks

The beautiful daisy paper does all the work here.  No sense messing with perfection and beauty.

Stampin' Up has some of the best Designer Series Paper on the market.  They have just released 5 New Online Exclusive papers.   Mark sure to check them out.... especially the Tartan Foil!

We BEE Stamping Team Blog Hop - Simple Stamping

BeeBlogHopOpeningIcon

Welcome to our August Team Blog Hop.  This month we are featuring Simple Stamping, so I took that to heart and went back to the basics of Stamps, Ink and Paper!

I have to projects to show you, but you can do with literally any stamp set.  I did find that lighter ink colors work best for the background as even the two light colors I chose, gave some great color.

EVERLASTING BEAUTY Stamp Set

#creativecardcloset #everlastingbeauty

The blue is Balmy Blue, ink and card stock.  I used Stampin' Up! acrylic Block D to mount my image on so I used Block D to create the background.  I just inked the whole block with my ink pad and stamped it onto my white paper.

I do have to say... definitely use our Foam Mat when stamping the inked block onto your paper.

COFFEE WITH FRIENDS stamp set

#creativecardcloset #coffeewithfriends

For this one, I turned the direction of my card and added a mat layer of card stock, which is Petal Pink.  Petal Pink is also what I inked Block E with to create the background.  I like how this one filled up a lot of the white card stock.  The card base is the New In Color Moody Mauve.  It is such a great color.

See.... I told you, can not get more basic and Simple than that.  Now, you can always bling up your card, add some ribbon, or do some fussy cutting of images, but a handmade card is always appreciated, no matter what it looks like.

I hope you like my projects but....

Patchwork Cards using Patchwork Pieces Dies

How fun is this!

Easy patchwork card designs with our new Patchwork Pieces Dies.  And the starburst (as I'm calling it) is so fitting with the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper

I cut two pieces of DSP to 3-3/4 x 5-1/4.  I did a dark pattern and a light pattern, alternating the pieces, making the patchwork design.  This will give you pieces to start two cards.

Let's take a look....

#stampwithlisabrown #patchworkdies #daisies

#stampwithlisabrown #patchworkdies

  • Card Bases are Night of Navy 5-1/2 x 8-1/2
  • Bottom mats are Basic White CS 3-3/4 x 5-1/4
    • PAPER SAVING TIP
      • card 1:  stamp & die cut daisy & leaves from this white piece
      • card 2:  punch your scallop oval & oval from this white piece
  • Next layer is Balmy Blue CS 3-1/2 x 4-15/16
    • this is the layer the patchwork pieces are adhered to
    • I chose this size to leave about a 1/16" space as a border and between the pieces.

HINT:  when adhering the patchwork pieces.... use Liquid Glue and START with the corners pieces!  It makes it so much easier to line up.

We BEE Stamping TEAM Blog Hop - Creative Backgrounds

BeeBlogHopOpeningIcon

Thank you for joining our team blog hop.  This month we are featuring creative backgrounds, which I'm very excited about.  I have not done a creative background in awhile, so it was nice to think outside the box for a minute.

Now the card itself is very simple, but that is because I did not want to take away from the beauty of the background.  I hope you like it.  Also, I have not used Watercolor Paper in a long time, nor the Gilded Leafing flakes.

#stampwithlisabrown #watercolor #gold #marble

(I just had to show you how reflective and shiny the gilded leafing flakes really are)

  • My ink colors are Fresh Freesia, Soft Sea Foam and Flirty Flamingo.
  • I fully saturated my watercolor paper with water in my spritzer, put several drops of reinker of each color, and spritzed more water.
  • Keep a paper towel handy to catch pooling and run off water.
  • You can quickly dry with the heat tool.

Using Multipurpose liquid glue, I drew lines all over and then covered with the gilded leafing flakes.  Its a bit messy but I always love how projects shine.  I covered the Happy Birthday and Stars dies with glue and flakes too as I wanted everything in gold to match.

Hint:  My Embossing Additions Tool Kit was a huge help in keeping the mess of the flakes to a minimum!  Tweezers to hold my dies cut down, brush to scrub away the extra flakes and a tray to catch (almost) all of it in.

Embossing Tool Kit
