How to Color a Galvanized Bucket

SAVI Sunday 59 Video:  How to Color a Galvanized Bucket

Coloring a bucket or flower pot to make it look like a galvanized pot is a lot easier than you think.  The key is using the color lifter.  In my video link above I show you exactly how to achieve this look.

Here is a close-up of the pot I colored:

8 Backgrounds & A Bonus using Succulent Dies

Hello There!  Lots to look at today and I'm excited to share these projects!  Every Wednesday, I go Live on Facebook (@Stamp with Lisa Brown) at 8:30 pm EST.

Here is a edited version of my Live recording from two weeks ago when I featured the beautiful background die from the Potted Succulents.

I made 8 Different Backgrounds with A Bonus!  I have since completed each one using the Simply Succulents Bundle (stamps and dies).

1. )  Classic White-on-White

2.)  White on Dark Background (Blackberry Bliss)

3.)  Dark over Light  (same color family... blues with Coastal Cabana & Bermuda Bay)

PicsArt_05-21-09.15.12

4.)  Color over Color (using same color cardstock... Mango Melody)

5.)  Using Snippets of the Dies  (die in Basic White on Soft Sea Foam cardstock base)

6.)  Use Die as a Mask for Embossing Paste

I die cut the background die 2x's and glued them together to make thicker for the Embossing Paste depth.

7.)  Die cut using Foil paper

8.)  Die cut in Basic White and using Blending Brushes to spread colors over die cut background.

Make sure to color over a piece of Basic White at least 6 x 6

BONUS or #9.)  Use the negative from the colored die above.... This is probably my favorite!

Main colors I used for coloring the succulents are:  Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, Old Olive, Soft Sea Foam, and Calypso Coral Blends Combo Packs.

The gray pots are stamped on Basic White and colored with Smokey Slate Blends Combo Pack and the Color Lifter.  The brown pots are stamped on Soft Suede card stock.

SAVI Sunday 57 - Double Masking

This weeks Savi Sunday VIDEO shows you two easy masking cards, but it is really my 2nd card project below that is the main focus - Double Masking.

I want to show you what it looks like when you stamp an image, and directly apply ink right over that image.  Its pretty in itself, but wait to you see the Double Masked card.

PicsArt_05-09-06.05.09

Both cards feature the Elegantly Said Stamp Set, available in a product suite called Simply Elegant

The above card is done in Fresh Freesia and below is Soft Succulent.

My 2nd project below, notice how the floral image looks like it is sitting on top of the sponged mask background.  But I actually sponged the background First!

Make sure to watch my Savi Sunday 57 Video and see the Double Masking technique.
