For the 3rd way, I have used the coordinating framelit die to die cut the poinsettia out of the paper and layer it with some Cherry Cobbler card stock.  The white flocking on this Specialty Paper is so pretty.

I actually did an inside for this one!  LOL!  The Poinsettia Petals stamp set is a 2-Step stamp set.  So like the berry branch... stamp one is the branches and outline of the berries, done in Black Memento.  Then there is a 2nd stamp to add color to the berries, which I did in Cherry Cobbler.

The strip of Cherry Cobbler card stock is cut 1/2 x 4"

We BEE Stamping TEAM Blog Hop - Fall Is In The Air

BeeBlogHopOpeningIcon

Welcome to our TEAM Blog Hop!  Our theme for September is Fall.

I am excited as fall is my favorite time of the year.  The fresh, crisp air; warm and sunny days; and cool nights, not too mention the beautiful colors of changing leaves.  And I wouldn't dare leave out my ultimate favorite part, Pumpkin Spice Lattes.  Mmmmm.... I can hardly wait!

So what is your favorite season?

If you like fall too, you are going to love this card featuring the Plaid Tidings 6x6 Designer Series Paper Stack.  Stampin' Up! did such a great job in the plaid patterns and the color combinations.  Speaking of colors, there are at least sixteen, yes, 16 different Stampin' Up! colors featured with this paper, which I think makes it versatile for more than just fall.

Life Is Beautiful Stamp Set

Hi there.

Life is Beautiful... what a great name for a stamp set.  I think it is quiet a fitting reminder for today, well, really for this year.  I feel we need to be reminded during these trying time that life is beautiful, we just need to see it.

I just love this card and all the colors.  I participated in a Team card challenge and this submission was made by a fellow Demonstrator, Mary Ann Rositer.  I love how she lets the Pretty Peacock card base remain as much a part of the focal color as the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper.  Very nice job.

PicsArt_08-31-12.42.19

Now, because I only receive a photo of all the card challenge submissions, I do not have the card in front of me.  I am going to take a guess at the basic sizes of what she cut.

  • Pretty Peacock card base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored at 4-1/4 on the long side.
  • DSP 3 x 4
  • Gold Foil 3-1/8 x 4-1/8
  • Whisper White for tree, 3-3/4 x 2-1/2
  • Pretty Peacock CS mat, 3-7/8 x 2-3/8
  • then you need Whisper White piece for the words and label die

Here is imagery from Stampin' Up! showing a few more examples.  You can click on the photo to bring up larger.

Using the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper (2)

SAVI Sunday 27 - Using the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper (2)

I am doing a short series on how to use the Flocked Vellum paper from the Poinsettia Place Suite available in the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog.  This specialty paper is so pretty and a unique offering in this holiday catalog.

Did you catch the first way I showed how to alter and use this paper?  If not, be sure to catch that HERE.

So my 2nd way.... Color the flocking with Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers:

I carefully used my Blends to color in the flocking and then backed it onto a Thick Whisper White Card stock base helped make it stand out.  Be careful if your Blends marker is newer, you only need to use a light touch.
