Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut Paper

So I just do not know where the last week and a half went.  Here we are with the Easter holiday over and in six days, it will be May!  My mom sure was right... time does go by faster as you get older.  And guess what?  I don't like it!!!

Before we know it, the 2019-2020 Annual catalog will be here so I wanted to show you something that will be retiring.  Our Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper.  Look at these quick and easy cards I put together in no time.  The best part is the paper is white on one side and Petal Pink on the other so I did designs showing both and changed up little elements here-n-there.

(note:  picture above with dark leaves, leaves/flowers came from Wonderful Romance stamp set still available.  Unfortunately, the dies are already out-of-stock and retiring.  That is also where the oval die came from.  You can replace with a standard Oval die or Stitched Framelit)

Meant To Be... Amazing

PicsArt_03-15-01.10.42

I received some Happy Mail!  Isn't this a cute card.  I received it a few weeks ago from my upline, Linda Bauwin, congratulating me on a goal.  Every month, if we hit a certain sales goal we will receive a card from her, so I call it Happy Mail.

Linda used the Meant To Be Bundle from the 2019 Occasions Catalog and accented with some Lovely Lipstick ribbon from the All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack.  See my supply list below and click on the image(s) to shop today.

What a great idea to die cut out a heart creating a window so now you can see the red hearts inside and out.  The decorative heart is die cut from the All My Love Designer Series Paper and adhered with Dimensionals so it pops through a little bit. Love it!

The words.... The words are from "Incredible Like You" stamp set.  Be sure to check out MY EVENTS page as I have an April class scheduled featuring this stamp set and the Amazing and Glittery card kit called "Incredible Like You Project Kit".  You won't want to miss this one!

Forever Lovely Bundle

I am always so drawn to floral stamps and this is yet another really pretty stamp set with coordinating dies.  The simple card is one that can be used for so many occasions.  Even though it is marketed in the 2019 Occassions catalog for Valentine's day, you can add any sentiment you would like.

The card base is Thick Whisper White.  Make sure to use your Score Blade on the Stampin' Trimmer Before folding card stock in half.  If you do not, the paper with crack and split.

Regular Whisper White card stock on top is cut 5-1/4 x 4" .  Die cut at an angle with detailed floral die and adhered on with dimensionals to make it pop.

Make sure to check out the full stamp set and dies!  There are several neat things that this bundle offers.  Like the corner dies (2 different kinds) and several floral dies.  You could easily add a nice bouquet of flowers to your project.

2 Watercolor Cards on Shimmery White

We have not watercolored in class for a little while now. So why not 2 in one class!  Do you ever find yourself doing that?  Not using a particular stamp set, color, product or technique and when you rediscover it, you use it over and over... I guess that is what happened to me.

I have a lot to say so let's get to it!   My full list of products used is at the bottom of my post.

For both cards, I used Stampin' Up! Shimmery White cardstock for my watercoloring.  I like having a smoother stamp surface versus watercolor paper, which tends to have texture to it.  Just my preference.  You can use either one.

Tea Together Stamp Set (2019 Occasions catalog) and the Painted Seasons stamp set (Earn Free - Sale-a-Bration Level 2 - includes Coordination Designer Series Paper):

The background is done on Whisper White cardstock (4-1/8 x 5-3/8"). Randomly stamp several images from the Painted Seasons stamp set, in Mint Macaroon, Pear Pizzazz, and Flirty Flamingo (dots... stamped off on scrap paper to lighten it up a bit).

I stamped the tea kettle in Mint Macaroon classic ink as it did not matter, when watercoloring, if some of the ink pulled from the kettle outline.  Using our Aqua Painters (watercoloring brush), and ink from the lid of the ink pad, we washed the kettle with color.  For interest, I pulled a little more ink onto my brush for the kettle lid area and kettle base.

The flower on the tea kettle was stamped after our tea kettle dried.  Using the Tea Time Framelit dies (Sale-a-Bration Level 2 Free Earn), die cut the kettle out and adhere with Dimensionals.   I added Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon too.

Let It Ride (2019 Occasions catalog) & Heartland (2018-2019 Annual catalog):

**Images stamped using STAZON Black Ink.

For this card, I used a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Shimmer White card stock. Just as in the tea kettle card, I did a wash of color for the sky (Balmy Blue ink) and grass (Garden Green ink).

My Real Red mat layer is 4-1/8 x 5-3/8"

WATERCOLOR WASH... the more water you squeeze out of your Aqua Painter, the lighter your color. You can always add more color!

The windmill, barn steeples, and silo are done in Gray Granite, then Real Red for the barn.  I have to be honest, I am not loving my barn. I probably should have made the roof brown to stand out a bit.

The Trees..... TIP:  I used almost a Pointillism method. Lots of straight color, very little water coming from my brush, and did continuous taps with the brush tip to color the trees and shrubs.  Try it, it is easier than you think. Just keep reloading your Aqua Painter brush with lots of ink color.

HORSE:   I enjoyed painting him.  Colored his entire body in Soft Suede then slowly added Early  Espresso. I was able to control the color with water. His mane and hooves are straight Early Espresso but by adding some water, I could highlight his body.

**Use the lid of your ink pads.  With the ink pad closed, give the lid a squeeze.  Open and you will see the ink on the lid. Put a couple of drops of water on it from your Aqua Painter and mix it up.  Again, the more water the lighter the color.

Spring Cheer

PicsArt_02-28-02.31.59

Oh my, this little guy is so cute! He is from Fable Friends stamp set.   You should see the adorable squirrel character and the ducks, there is a momma and three babies!  They are very sweet.  Check my supply list below for a picture or click on Fable Friends

Are you ready for spring as much as I am? We really have not had too much snow this year, but the cold temperatures and gray skies are starting to get to me.  I will remedy some of that soon as I make my annual trek down to the Carolina's in a few weeks!  Even if it's only 65 degrees down there,  I will take it!  Hoping to get lucky and have it a bit warmer.

CARD MEASUREMENTS:

  -  Gingham Paper:  cut 4" x 5-1/4"  (I cut the 4" first to maximize my scrap pieces).

  -  The frame is cut using the Stitched Label Framelits.  Outside dimensions are 3-3/8" x 4-3/4"

  -  The inside frame dimensions are 2-5/8" x 4"

  -  The whisper white with Mr. Bunny is 1-3/4" x 3-1/8"

Check out what I did on the inside of this card... I just had to use that rectangle piece left over from making the Stitched Framelits frame!  Waste not, want not. There is still room to stamp a little sentiment and to write a note.

Sideways again... all well!

I hope you like this one.  My inspiration came from Terry Lundeberg
