Here is my next card example using the Healing Hugs Distinktive stamp set.  Did you miss my previous post on this?  Check it out Here and watch the video explaining what a Distinktive is and see my card and 3D project, both featuring the new color Highland Heather.

The below card was done using Poppy Parade, a returning favorite color.

Here's the Twist!....  Ink up the flower stamp in Poppy Parade, take a sponge dauber, dip in Merry Merlot, and tap the dauber around the edge of the stamp.  You can add some Merry Merlot to the flower center too!  This adds dimension to the flower and was done on the two background flowers.

Hope you enjoyed this card in Poppy Parade.  More samples to come!

Healing Hugs in Highland Heather

You know, unfortunately, we all seem to need a sympathy card or a get well card.  And seeing as one of my favorite stamp sets retired a couple of months ago, I found this lovely replace set.  The images are so beautiful you can add any sentiment to customize for your occasion.  Click HEALING HUGS to check out all the images and words.

Did you know that the Healing Hugs is a Distinktive stamp?

What is a Dintinktive stamp you ask?  Check out this video Stampin' Up! posted.  It not only explains what these are, but provides great tips on inking and adding multiple colors to add detail and depth to your image.

Here are some projects I did using the new color, Highland Heather and the fabulous Copper Tins.  The tin can hold several 3x3 note cards or a favorite treat.

I used the masking technique here.  To do that, stamp the flower on scrap paper and cut out as close to the image as possible, leaving no border.  After I stamped the flower multiple times on my project piece of Whisper White card stock, I placed my mask over a flower, then stamped the leaves.  I just placed the mask over each flower and stamp as many leaves that I thought look good.  You can use this technique for each leaf in the stamp set, as you can see on the tin and 3x3 note card.

Accent with some Polka Dot Tulle ribbon and on the card, the sentiment was punched out with the Everyday Label punch.

Make sure to subscribe to my blog as I will be adding several more samples using Healing Hugs

Delightfully Detailed 2 of 2 (with a Fun Twist & Tip)

It's Friday!  So excited for the weekend to be here.  Trust me when I say it has been a long week so I am looking forward to my Club Classes this weekend.  Did you ever have something change on you and it is completely out of your control; but yet that change will affect your day-to-day life from here on out?  That's my week in a nutshell.

So let's think happy thoughts!

As promised, I am sharing  other projects made during my Delightfully Detailed class.  You can go back to my Last post and see the six note cards we made.  Here are the four standard A2 sized cards:

If you want a reminder as to what the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Designer Series Paper looks like, Click Here.  For all four cards, I cut snippets out of the laser-cut paper and used Tombow liquid adhesive to adhere.  Fine Tip Glue works great too.   Stampin' Up! Paper Snips works wonders on cutting the fine details.  I would be lost with my Snips!

So here is my FUN TWIST!!!

After snipping out part of the laser-cut DSP, I colored it with a Sponge Brayer.  Here's the twist.... place your snippet piece over Whisper White card stock while you are brayering the color on.  This is what made the background to the second card below.  Why waste paper, right!  These cards were made with Coastal Cabana.

MY TIP:   rinse out your Sponge Brayer with water and let completely dry.  The ink will rinse right out and you can use the sponge over and over.

Don't forget, the Detailed with Love Bundle (stamp set and triple corner punch) coordinates well and is what was used for these projects.

I hope you enjoyed and have a great weekend!

Delightfully Detailed 1 of 2

I just have to say, I am so glad it finally cooled off outside.  These days in the upper 80's and 90's with high humidity are not my cup of tea.  Today is perfect sunshine and very little humidity.  Makes me happy.

Last week I held my Delightfully Detailed class featuring the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut designer series paper. It is absolutely gorgeous and offers some great features.  The first is that one side is white and the other side is very vanilla.  Here is what the designs look like.  You receive four of each:

The second great feature is, in the first picture above, those rectangle pieces, mat on top of the coordinating Delightfully Detailed Note cards!  You get 20 note cards with envelops for only $9.50.  They make quick and easy projects like the ones we made in class.  Take a look below but make sure to read my TIPS first...

TIPS on cutting design with rectangle pieces:

  1. cut off long boarder piece first, showing on left side in above picture
  2. then cut off shorter boarder piece showing across bottom
  3. save boarder pieces for other projects (we used in some of our projects)
  4. there is room to cut between boarder strips and rectangle images
  5. cut between each of the rectangle pieces to get 6 images

The 6 rectangle images mat perfectly on the Delightfully Detailed Note Cards!

The Note cards have a watercolor look to them in Mint Macaron and Blackberry Bliss and are Very Vanilla based.  To help complete our projects, we used the Detailed with Love Bundle to stamp our words and add a couple of decorative embellishments with the punch.

 Other accessories used:

Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon (available in Whisper White & Very Vanilla)

Nature's Twine (combo pack of 4 colors)

Metallic Pearls (pack of gold & silver come together)

Leaf Punch

Layering Oval Framelit dies  (combination of oval & scallop oval dies)

I hope you like these Note cards.  Make sure to subscribe and come back as I will be showing you the 4 other projects we made with the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut paper and Detailed with Love Bundle!
