I had another fun card challenge put before me, so I accepted. Although the theme was using Abstract Impressions, (I am in the New Occasions and Sale-a-Bration mode...), I decided to join in.
Besides a specific stamp set, my other challenge was to use the colors of Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, and So Saffron. What a great combination!
So Saffron Card Base is cut 11" x 4-1/4" then scored at 5-1/2
Granny Apple Green mat is 5-5/16" x 4-1/16"
Whisper White is 5-1/4" x 4"
Using the largest flower stamp and VersaMark ink, randomly stamp around the edges of the Whisper White. Cover VersaMark with Clear Embossing Powder (you could use White powder too), and then heat emboss.
Next, using a Sponge Dauber with Melon Mambo ink, I rubbed over the floral images. Next, take a baby wipe or slightly damp paper towel and wipe off the excess ink from the clear embossed flowers. Water-based ink does not dry well over embossing powder so you need to wipe it off.
Stamp a few leaves, a word or two.... and you have created the background of your card.
Die Cut two (2) butterflies from the Springtime Impressions Thinlits (bundled with Abstract Impressions). The bottom butterfly, I again used sponge daubers to add Melon Mambo, So Saffron and Granny Apple Green ink. Lay the plain white butterfly over top, flex their wings and add some Rhinestones.
Oh! My Strips of paper for added interest: whisper white 1/2" x 4" and So Saffron 3/4" x 4"
Hope you enjoyed! Let me know if you would like to see a video on this. Leave me a comment.
