Beautiful You - Graduates

PicsArt_06-03-01.47.38

Isn't this the cutest graduation card?  I just love it.  It is not my original idea but I needed a graduation card and couldn't resist.  My girlfriend's daughter graduated this weekend and she is a ballet dancer so how perfect!  And Port Clinton, Ohio HS school colors are red and white AND she is attending Ohio State in the fall.  Same colors... win, win.

I am so sad the Number Framelits are retired but I was thinking (I know... dangerous), get final call on the Large Letter Framelits before they retire tonight and use the word "GRAD" instead of the year!

TODAY is the LAST chance to get these and guess what?  THEY ARE DISCOUNTED!  $69.30 originally $99.00.  What a steal for the entire alphabet and more.  Total of 37 dies.

I used Real Red card stock for my mat, colored her dress with Red Light & Dark Blends and used Lovely Lipstick enamel dots but then darkened them up by using Dark Real Red Blends to get more color.  The Lovely Lipstick looked too pink against the Real Red.  Easy fix.

Her cap is 5/8 x 5/8" square.

Real Red card stock is 5-3/8 x 4-1/8"

Whisper White is 5-1/4 x 4"

Standard A2 Basic Black card base is 8-1/2 x 5-1/2"

Lovely as a Tree Farewell

PicsArt_05-22-12.44.09

Well, it is the end of an era!  'Lovely as a Tree' is retiring on June 3, 2019, after 18 years of circulation. When my cousin introduced me to Stampin' Up! back in 2001, this stamp set had just come out and it was a must have.

Oh goodness, I am trying to think what the technique craze was back then. Everyone was doing it.   OH!  I know.... the packaging tape technique.  You cut a window out of your Whisper White front piece and cover the hole with clear packing tape.  Then dump Dazzling Diamonds Glitter (yep...been around a long time too) over the tape and rub it in until tape no longer sticky.  Through the glittery window you could see the single tree stamp.  I am sure I still have that card somewhere,  I will have to find it.

Any way, I had my club card class over the weekend and felt it appropriate to do one more class card using Lovely as a Tree.  Simple and clean... I am going to miss this set.

Card base is Basic Black cut 5-1/2" by 8-1/2"

Lemon Lime Twist mat cut 5-3/8" by 4-1/8"   (already sold out so substitute with Old Olive) (do any die cutting with this piece... like I did with the word Sympathy)

Whisper White card stock is cut 5-1/4" x 4"

Mask the Whisper White and use Stampin' Sponges to sponge on color:  Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Balmy Blue

Words and die cut word are from the Bundle "Well Said Bundle".  ORDER no later than June 3rd to get the bundle price discount.  Don't forget that items carrying over into the new catalog but not as a bundle.

Enjoy Life

PicsArt_05-10-11.37.21

This has easily become my favorite card! The swipes of colors make it look like an amazing sunset, or I suppose a sunrise.

The Enjoy Life stamp set has some great inspirational phrases and images make a simple yet perfect card.

Card Base:  Basic Black card stock  8-1/2 x 5-1/2

Mat:  Melon Mambo  card stock  4-1/8 x 5-3/8

Card Front:  (colorful piece) Shimmer White Card stock 5-1/4 x 4

Ink Refills:  Petal Pink, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, and Blackberry Bliss

I put a couple of drops of ink in some empty embellishment containers I had laying around, one for each color.  Then with my Aqua Painter, added a few drops of water and mixed it up.  Working from Dark to Light, I swiped color back-n-forth with my brush.  I worked from dark to light because when you mix up the color and water, or pick up more color with your Aqua Painter, your brush will have lots of color, right?  Keep a paper towel near by to wipe off your brush when changing ink colors.  You do not have to clean completely, just enough to remove majority of color.

Use your Heat Tool to help speed the drying process.  Remember, heat both sides of the paper which will help with the curling.

Stamped images and works are done in Black Memento ink (I used a brand new pad....wow!  That sure did stamp nice).   If you have not replaced your Memento ink pad for a while, I highly recommend replacing it.  I did not realize the quality difference between my old pad and the new one.  But mine is heavily used.

What me to do a video for this card?  Let me know!!!

Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut Paper

So I just do not know where the last week and a half went.  Here we are with the Easter holiday over and in six days, it will be May!  My mom sure was right... time does go by faster as you get older.  And guess what?  I don't like it!!!

Before we know it, the 2019-2020 Annual catalog will be here so I wanted to show you something that will be retiring.  Our Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper.  Look at these quick and easy cards I put together in no time.  The best part is the paper is white on one side and Petal Pink on the other so I did designs showing both and changed up little elements here-n-there.

(note:  picture above with dark leaves, leaves/flowers came from Wonderful Romance stamp set still available.  Unfortunately, the dies are already out-of-stock and retiring.  That is also where the oval die came from.  You can replace with a standard Oval die or Stitched Framelit)

Sea of Textures for Father's Day

Okay, I need to start by sharing how excited I am that the GLITTER ENAMEL DOTS will be carrying over to the 2019-2020 catalog!  These are the best enamel dots ever.  The are sparkly, colorful (one sheet has four bright colors), and they are not bulky, so excellent for mailing.

Sea of Texture's Bundle is retiring!

PicsArt_04-19-10.44.40

I have had a late love bloom for the Sea of Textures Bundle (stamps and dies).  I think it was the octopus image that scared me away but the sand dollars, netting, and coral are great. I got the card idea from one of my Team members, Sandy Bennett.  Thanks Sandy!

Coastal Cabana is my card base and ink used on the Pool Party piece of card stock to add texture.  The Pool Party card stock is cut 4-1/4" x 2-1/2"

Whisper White card stock is also cut 4-1/4" x 2-1/2" and ran through the Big Shot with Wood Textures embossing folder.  Ha!  Ha!  Did you notice my lines are at an angle?  My card stock slipped in the folder and I never noticed.  All well... adds more dimension I guess.

Soft Suede card stock is 4-1/4" x 1-1/2" and stamped with the Soft Suede Ink.

Elements:  long coral is Pool Party card stock, small coral is cut with Soft Suede and Calypso Coral card stock, Netting is Crumb Cake and the Sand Dollars are Whisper White sponged with a little Soft Suede ink.
